very greenest skyscraper in the world

Compiled by Jon Schroeder from Portland State University with a degree in Environmental Communication, here are some of the very best greenest skyscraper in the world.
According to Jon, the Bahrain World Trade Center Towers in the Kingdom of Bahrain is the greenest among all, well, it is just his personal opinion, not very accurate but at least it gave us an insight view of these ecologically friendly buildings.Tags: Green Skyscrapers, Greenest Skyscraper, Skyscraper, Top Ten Green Skyscrapers

Buildings wallpapers

On a computer that is provided with a desktop kind of user interface, wallpaper is the background pattern or picture against which desktop menus, icons, and other elements are displayed and moved around. A wallpaper image can be in a JPEG or a GIF file format. Wallpaper is commonly used in Microsoft Windows, Macintosh Mac OS, Linux, and in other operating systems as well. Each operating system provides several pre-installed wallpaper images for the user to choose from. A user can also choose to download and install third-party wallpapers and use one of these instead.
Typically, a wallpaper image may be centered, stretched, or tiled. When an image is centered, it is placed in the middle of the desktop and is surrounded by a solid color. When an image is stretched, it is stretched to cover all of the desktop. Only certain images can be stretched or they look distorted. An image that is tiled is placed on the desktop much like tiles are placed in a shower or a tiled floor. Tiling is commonly used for patterns instead of photos because a pattern is one square image that repeats itself across and down the screen, effectively forming a single image.

Zaha Phaeno

After a construction period of more than four years the phaeno building, breaking with many conventions has been hand over on the 24th of november. only with the help of most modern special building materials an international team the spatial conceptions of the design by pritzker prize winning architect zaha hadid could be realized. the winning design came out of an international competition organized in 2000.the initial design was presented as a printing, proposing the phaeno being built over the nearby road. several concrete cone feet carry the impressing mass. inside a seven meters height structural adventure unfolds. with forms, terraces and plateaus reminding of craters and caves. it required a large quantity of individually manufactured formwork and the newest technology in concrete. phæno is so far largest construction in “selfconsolidating concrete" (svb) built in europe and will therefore be an important reference object.phaeno is an initative of the city of wolfsburg, which invested 79 million euro in the project.

Zaha Cincinnati Gallery

Cincinnati's Contemporary Arts Center is the first built project in theUnited States by celebrated London-based architect Zaha Hadid. More than another example of the "Bilbao Effect" - the "build it and they will come" attitude that so many cities have taken on after the success of Gehry's building in Bilbao - the CAC is simply the latest building in a long line of projects that the city of Cincinnati has taken on over the last ten years, including works by Peter Eisenman, Frank Gehry and Michael Graves.

Zaha BMW Factory

Kieran Long Zaha Hadid’s new BMW factory in Leipzig is the latest strike in the war of architectural one-upmanship that has broken out amongst German car manufacturers. In the blue corner is Mercedes, with a new museum by Dutch radicals UN Studio. In the red is BMW with its soon to be built BMW World visitor centre by Austrian deconstructivists Coop Himmelblau, and now a new factory building in Leipzig by Zaha Hadid. The architecture that BMW and Mercedes have chosen is the formally hyperactive shape-making most obvious in the work of Hadid, brought in to give a certain intellectual and aesthetic sheen to the business of selling luxury cars.

Zaha Aquatics London Olympics

The process has begun to lift the roof of the Zaha Hadid-designed Olympic aquatics centre into place.
The 2,800 tonne, 160m-long wave-shaped roof will eventually rest on two concrete supports at its northern end and a supporting wall at its southern end.
A 70-tonne steel truss has been put in place on top of the southern wall and more will be assembled in coming months, the ODA said.
ODA chief executive David Higgins said: “The lift of the sweeping wave-shaped roof is one of the toughest construction and engineering challenges on the Olympic park and will showcase the world class expertise involved in delivering the venues and infrastructure for London 2012.”
Zaha Hadid added: “This is a key milestone in the construction programme we have been looking forward to since winning the 2004 competition. The roof of the aquatics centre reflects the fluidity of water and will provide an inspirational legacy for all Londoners well beyond the 2012 Games.”
The foundations of the venue are complete and work will begin on the pool structure once the steel roof is complete, the ODA said.

Empire State Building

Located in New York City, the Empire State Building is one of the world’s most famous structures. It was the world’s tallest building from 1931 until 1972. Today, only a small number of skyscrapers reach higher.
The history of the Empire State Building begins in the late 1800s, when construction companies began using steel to erect buildings. With that, the skyscraper was born. Soon, in the Empire State Building New York era, erecting the world’s tallest building became somewhat of a competition. First came the Woolworth Building in 1913. It was 792 feet high. Then there was the Bank of Manhattan constructed in 1930 at 927 feet. Following this, the Chrysler Building was erected at a height of 1, 046 feet. Yet even before the Chrysler Building was completed, investor John Jacob Raskob was making plans to go higher. He wanted to erect a building that would be a tribute to America as a land of opportunity. Raskob named his dream after New York State’s nickname, and the Empire State Building began to take shape.

Originally built for Marie de Médicis, by Salomon de Brosse, the decoration was in charge of the artists Nicolas Poussin and Philippe de Champaigne. Taipei 101

This is the building that in the early 21st century put all the other buildings in their place. There was a rivalry between several buildings over who had the right to call themselves the tallest in the world. When the Petronas Towers were erected.

AT&T Building ( Nashville )

If you're looking for a warm, fuzzy image for your corporation -- this isn't it. This building was intended to look like a telephone at the top. And the decorative bridge that supports the company's logo does in some way resemble the receiver of a telephone in its cradle. But the addition of a pair of illuminated spires ruins the image. You can imagine bolts of electricity arcin

Chicago Spire

The city where the skyscraper was born just can't get enough of these supertowers. The Chicago Spire is the latest in a series of super-tall projects proposed and erected since the mid 1990's. Some, like the Trump International Hotel and Tower, come to fruition. Others, like 7 South Dearborn, do not. The opposition from NIMBY residents in Streeterville and scoffs from other parts.

Freedom Tower ( New York )

When completed, this will be one of the most important buildings of the early 21st century. It is significant in stature, in design, in its politics, its symbolism, and for the reason it was built. The Freedom Tower is the replacement for what was once New York's World Trade Center. In September, 2001 terrorists destroyed several of the Center's buildings, including the massive.

Burj Dubai

When completed, this building is intended to be the tallest in the world. Originally, it was in the running with the Freedom Tower in New York, however, the Burj Dubai has the advantage of actually having begun construction while the New York project has been bogged down in political and sentimental interests. Just how tall the tower will be remains to be seen. With any skyscraper.
